Watchband.biz have ordered a review of their site from us, so let’s see what we can do.

Watchband.biz do what they say, provide new watch bands (or watch straps as they’re sometimes called). However, they provide handcrafted leather bands with a wide variety of price ranges. A bit of spiel from their site:

… watch bands are handcrafted – one by one, in a process consisting of more than 60 steps. Fine reptile leathers are punched, seams are sewn, varnish is carefully applied. The Classic Collection offers unique leather watch bracelets made in HIRSCH Rembordier Technology. All leather watchbands are Sauna-Tested and Water-Resistant. Some watch straps in the collection are even 100m Water-Resistant and are provided with the HIRSCH No Allergy System. The designs in the Bijou Series constist of matte or shiny metals, classical forms, elegant showpieces or modern combinations of different materials. The HIRSCH Sparetube System allows to adjust the bracelet to the individual size. The Solo Collection stands for functional watch straps, clear forms and innovative materials proving that a sporty design is compatible with complete wearer comfort.

Features

The website has a couple of nice features. Firstly the Watch Brands page tells you which of the HIRSCH and StrapCulture bands that they sell, fit on different brands of watch. Whilst not covering all major watch brands, I can only assume they just cover watches that fit their straps.

The other nice feature is the watch sizing guide. Simply print it out, check the scale against a ruler, and then you can see what size band you need to buy. Based in Germany, Watchband.biz deliver worldwide and have over 5,000 different watch bands for sale.

Convenience

The site is conveniently available in French and German, as well as English, without the need for a separate online translation tool. They also sell watch parts, tools and on a separate site, cases and winders.

They have a good testimonials page, something a lot of sites miss, and even if you’re not looking to buy a band at the moment, they have a great tutorials page that covers everything from sizing and fitting, to repairing and manufacturing.

The site would benefit from being able to display prices in different currencies, it currently defaults to US Dollars, and Euros for the French and German versions. Besides that Watchband.biz seems to be a great first stop for a new watch band.

Life Goggles had a great post over Christmas called Alternative Guide to Christmas Shopping, where they talked about going green online, charity shops, bartering for your goods, websites that offer you cash back for shopping on well known sites, and getting discounts using voucher codes. Quite frankly, if you don’t get a discount or cashback when shopping online, you’re paying too much.

In this vein, MyCoupons have just relaunched and are paying bloggers to take a look at their site.

MyCoupons is a free website that currently has 13,820 coupon codes, 10 times larger than any other coupon site (according to them). They search the internet and work with merchants to provide you with discount codes for your online shopping. Originally set up in 1994, the site has undergone a couple of name changes, and sales and then saved from bankruptcy, the site has just relaunched on March 17th 2007.

As well as being a coupon directory, it also has a coupon community, again that is free to join, where you can earn CouponCredits that enable you to earn Visa Giftcards by contributing to the site. For a website that hasn’t been open in its current form for long, there are a large number of interesting posts, although if I’m being critical there are far too many forums at the moment, it can be a little overwhelming.

If you want to get a better feel for the site, take a look at the MyCoupons blog.

Next time when you’re shopping online and want to save some money (you should ALWAYS try to save some money….), in conjunction with sites like Hot UK Deals, Free Stuff Junction, DVD Reviewer’s Bargain Buckets forum and voucher codes, add MyCoupons to your list.

Trackback to LoudLaunch – Compensating bloggers for their unbiased opinions, reviews, and analysis. View the LoudLaunch campaign release this post was based on.

As part of our sign-up with ReviewMe, advertisers choose which blogs review them. In that vein FashionShop.co.uk have asked us to review their website and are paying us for doing so. However there is no requirement that the review is positive, so let’s take a look.

Fashion Shop is a family business based in Wellingborough, England that has been trading for a number of years, online since May 2005.

Products

Focussing on women’s accessories such as handbags, shoes and jewellery, they are having Handbag Heaven Month with new handbags from Jane Shilton,
Xude Handbags, and Handbags from Suzy Smith. The site is intuitively laid out, lacking the bewildering array of categories that some other sites seem to have. The range of handbags is excellent, covering the ranges mentioned previously and several others.

Menswear is also available, mainly shoes, a few shirts, cufflinks and other accessories. The Gift Ideas section could do with a little more work, containing only a limited set of suggestions and items. However overall the site is very easy to use (although product navigation could do with being at the bottom of the list of items as well as at the top) and there are plenty of items at more than reasonable prices.

Site features

Including a handy size guide is a nice feature, though the fashion news hasn’t been updated since October 2005 so should really be updated or removed. Registering for the site (not even ordering) enters you into a monthly draw for a £50 voucher. Every customer benefits from fraud protection guarantee and for peace of mind, Fashion Shop is certified by SafeBuy, a UK Government-endorsed Trust UK scheme. Postage is free for orders over £50 and they offer a 7-day no quibble money back guarantee.

If you have any experience with FashionShop.co.uk, please let us know in the comments below, else take a look around.
