Supermodel Elle Mcpherson gave new meaning to the expression “charity bash” when she fought off a mugger on her way to an Aids fundraiser in London.

The 43-year-old, known as “The Body”, belted the hapless hoodie who attempted to steal her bag in a Camden street. Macpherson used her expertise in ancinet Chinese martial art tai chi and an impressive physique to send the would be robber packing, according to onlookers.

A witness at the scene outside the trendy Koko club, in Camden High Street, said “It was amazing enough to see Elle Macpherson in Camden anyway, but then she sort of crossed the road to get into her waiting car.

“This bloke wearing a hoodie thing just came out of nowhere and lunged at her to try and grab her handbag. He must have been mad, it was pretty obvious who she was.”
He added that Macpherson calmly swung around, squared up to the man and grabbed her bag back.

He said “It was brilliant, the guy couldn’t believe it was happening. She’s a big lass too.”
